Style, Imagination, and Whimsy Point To The Right Frame
You already know that picture frames come in all shapes, sizes, styles, and colors, and this is a very good thing for those of us who are "decorating challenged". Unfortunately, it can also be confusing, because knowing just which frame to choose for each situation becomes more difficult with each added option.
Some frame buying situations are obvious... when you need a digital frame, then that's what you get, and only the size will vary depending on how much space you have on your table or desk. But what about when you need to choose between silver or gold picture frames, white or black, wooden or acrylic, rustic or contemporary? In those situations, I find it's best to let the photo you will be framing, your home's decor, and your own personality tell you what kind of frame to buy.
What I mean is this. If you have a large photo and a big expanse of blank wall to fill, and the rest of your room is decorated in primary colors, then it seems only natural that you would place that picture in a large, hanging, white or black acrylic frame, right? And, if you have a small table in your office, a small photo of your wife or children to display, and the decor is early American, then a rustic, wood frame will make sense. Get the picture... no pun intended!
Other photos call for a deft touch. Suppose your daughter loves taking landscape photos or sunsets. You want to display her 11 x 20 enlargement of her favorite sunset in your den or family room because it's beautiful, and so is she, and you want to encourage her artistic flair. This might very well call for a custom oval frame, or even a contemporary metal or steel frame. Either would do the print justice, and your daughter will love you for it.
There are photo frames for just about any unique situation you have, including collage picture frames and 3- or 4- photo frames for displaying multiple pictures, and special event frames for hanging or table display of your family weddings, graduations, baby births, and other events, and even personalized custom picture frames to give credit where credit is due.
Take a deep breath and wade into the world of photo frames with confidence. Use your own creativity, sense of style, and whimsical imagination to artfully display your prized pictures with pride.
